SUP – Stand up Paddle boarding on the Shannon

If you have an interest in water sports and want to try something new, then look no further. On the 22nd of July, Mid Ireland Adventure will host a stand up paddle boarding event. The event will begin at 10am and end at 1pm, will cost €10.00pp that can be paid on the day and will be available for everyone over the age of ten.

SATURDAY

  • Safari 1 leaving at 10:15am
  • Safari 2 leaving 11:30am

SUNDAY

  • Safari 1 leaving at 11:15am
  • Safari 2 leaving 12:30am

5k Fun Walk, Run or Jog!

Come along and join in this Fun Walk, Run Jog …. whatever your fitness level allows! A great family Fun morning – if running to hit a time is not your thing this is the perfect run for you.

All funds raised on the day will go towards Banagher Tidy Towns.

Registration at Crank House on the morning from 10.40.

Sionn Mhara – Join the Crew

Banagher’s local long boat is back again this year offering you the opportunity to join the crew and take to the Shannon to enjoy the opportunity. The local long boat was launched at the time of the festival two years ago after being created by local community members. The option is now there to go out and be a part of the crew during the festival so utilise it while you can.

‘Shannon Adventure Canoeing are holding an introduction to Open Canadian Canoeing on Sunday 23rd July from 2pm to 4pm at the Marina, Banagher. All participants must be able to swim.

Crossbar Challenge

A challenge that requires upmost skill, technique and possibly some good luck!  That Beats Banagher are calling out for sporting enthusiasts of ages to come along to St Rynagh’s GAA on Saturday 14th May and compete in the inaugural That Beats Banagher – Crossbar Hurling Challenge.

Boys and girls, mums and dads, young and old take on an Offaly hurl and join our crossbar challenge. He or she who dares wins!

We are now inviting teams to register for this event which will take place from 2pm to 3pm on Saturday 14th May.

  • Teams –  3 per team
  • Cost – €10

There will be a prize giving at 3.15pm so don’t miss your opportunity to become That Beats Banagher – Inaugural Crossbar Challenge Winner 2016!
