Tea with Charlotte Bronte

Tea with Charlotte Bronte – Creative Writing Workshop with Eileen Casey

Duration – 2 hour workshop.

Participants are invited to bring along family photographs/favourite photographs of the area. The workshop aims to access particular memories set in a particular timeframe (to be decided by the individual writers) but with the added element of including Charlotte Bronte. Participants  will also be bringing Bronte’s presence into the work in a very real and living way.

The workshop will begin with tea, using Eileen Casey’s  Persian tealeaves. These leaves produce the most marvellous shapes and act as an introduction to ‘reading images’. We will  also fill a cup for Charlotte which, when drained away, would leave an image particular for her.

It would be Eileen’s  intention for each participant to write something based around my working title ‘Tea with Charlotte Bronte.’

‘Tea with Charlotte Bronte’ is suitable for every age group.

It may be interesting to read Eileen Casey’s  piece about Charlotte Bronte (which is published in her book of short memoir ‘A Fascination with Fabric,’ (Arlen House))
