Battle of the Blacksmiths

Get ready for an unforgettable experience in Banagher! We're thrilled to announce a one-of-a-kind event that's sure to leave you in awe. Following the huge success of last year's Blacksmithing Demonstration with James O'Connor, a master of traditional blacksmithing, we're bringing him back with a bang! This time, James will be joined by over 20 skilled blacksmiths and traditional craft experts from all over, for a jam-packed weekend filled with the art of forging, blacksmithing skills, and much more. Iron Smelting

Following the huge success of last year’s Iron Ore Smelting demonstrations Paul Rondelez is back with more experts to teach and demonstrate during That Beats Banagher Festival 2024! In 2023, as part of the That Beats Banagher Festival, some of this ore was smelted into iron. This year will see several furnaces pumping out true Banagher iron. The Furnace Festival takes place next to the amazing blacksmiths of Forged in Ireland who demonstrate the skills involved in modern forging. Click image to read more.

SUP – Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Have you wanted to try Stand Up Paddle Boarding, here is your chance. Mid Ireland Adventure are hosting a splash and dash SUP taster on Saturday 27th July. We supply, buoyancy aids, and helmets, You bring togs,  a towel and a YOUR sense of Adventure! Booking times: Session 1. 2 pm – 3 pm. Session 2 3 pm – 4 pm. Session 3 4 pm – 5 pm.

Long Puck across the Shannon

Banagher Park Banagher, Ireland

Test your precision hurling skills by hitting a floating target on the Shannon!  Or if spectating is your thing, we would be delighted to welcome you.   You will be invited to puck a sliotar, aim,  and ideally get it into the goal net which will be floating in the river!  Contestants will be in one of four categories: adult male, adult female, junior male, and junior female. There will be a prize for the winners in each category.

Sunday Funday

Banagher Park Banagher, Ireland

Join us on Sunday, the 28th, for 'Sunday Funday' at Banager Park! There will be an array of entertainment and activities suitable for the whole family. Enjoy face painting, nail art, games, and arts & crafts. Additionally, we will have outdoor zorbing, a Long Puc across the Shannon competition, and an opportunity for younger ones to try Puc down the park. Click Image to read more

Outdoorsy Pop up Shop

Banagher Park Banagher, Ireland

Visit a pop-up shop on the banks of the Shannon this Sunday! Outdoorsy will be there from 12:00 to 5:00 pm with a small pop-up shop with demo bikes so people can test them out.

Heritage Walk

St Pauls Church Banagher, Ireland

As part of the 11th That Beats Banagher Festival there will be a Heritage Walk along Banagher's Main Street on Sunday 28th July starting outside Saint Paul's Church at 12.30 p.m. The walk will include the town's three churches, Charlotte's Way, (formerly Hill House), the old graveyard, Crank House, the Bridge Barracks  Banagher Bridge and other points of interest. The walk is free but donations towards the festival will be accepted. The walk will be led by James Scully and others and will last for about 90 minutes.
