They all say it “We’ve got something for everyone”, but do they though, do they really? Well, we do!
In case you’re doubting our claim, check out one of the coolest additions to our 2018 Festival schedule. Mary Bulfin AKA Wild Food Mary has a background in science, food and natural medicine but her speciality is wild food. She holds foraging workshops, guided school forages and nature walks throughout Ireland. She also hosts individuals and small groups at her venue for fully immersive experiences over two days with accommodation included.
This year she will be taking small groups on foraging trips as part of the That Beats Banagher festival. This is a great opportunity to get a better understanding of what’s naturally available all around us and to see what we can do with it, all while on an enjoyable trek through nature.
Make sure to sign up as places are limited.
This workshop will include:
- A guided foraging walk at an easily accessible site.
- See and discus at least 20 different plants, flowers and fungi. Learn of their heritage, folklore and herbal uses.
- Demonstration on making something simple from wild finds (syrup or pesto).
- Tastings and recipe swop.
Meeting point is at Shannon Bank Park
