Mary Madden will talk about her journey as a writer and her two Irish novels: Celia’s Promise and The Man on the Bus. The children’s author, Lynn Coughlan will discuss self-publishing in relation to Fairy Wonderland of Rhymes.
Enjoy watching Padraig Larkin using ancient Irish straw-making techniques to make baskets and other items of interest. The demo will be free and available for everyone to view.
Join us for a free outdoor movie screening for kids aged 10-12 at Martello Coffee Dock on Friday night 14th of July. Bring a blanket or chair and settle in for a fun night under the stars (exact time to be confirmed based on weather and darkness). Join Seamus Kirwan in preserving the old craft of hand-spinning wool on spinning wheels, drop spindles or walking wheel! Come along and enjoy the demonstration. Seamus will bring several different styles of spinning wheels and drop spindles to the workshop so you will also have the opportunity to try these skills.
