The That Beats Banagher Festival has something for the whole family to enjoy over the weekend. Children of all ages can sign up to great activities like; arts and crafts workshops, yoga and meditation classes, a ‘make-your-own-book’ workshop, and a GAA blitz (ages 4-7) in the local GAA club. Families can also settle down to enjoy an outdoor screening of a favourite family classic film with popcorn, hot chocolate and treats served up by the Martello Coffee Truck team on Friday night at 9.30pm. Children (big and small!) can look forward to a sky lantern display on Saturday night, where they can make a wish and send it soaring up to the skies above them (Children should be accompanied by adults for movie night and sky lantern display).  A special star-weaving workshop facilitated by Offaly Local Development Company will shine a light on how the joy and healing power of the arts and traditional crafts can be used to help end violence. For the competitive type, the town will hold a very special Long Puck across the Shannon, where participants can test their precision hurling skills by hitting a floating target on the Shannon! A great spectator event!
